Week 17 Premier News

A surprising set of results this week with the "big four" all being held to draws. Manchester Utd and Arsenal will be the happier of the four with points at potentially tricky away games at Middlesbrough and Tottenham respetively. Liverpool and Chelsea are both struggling to win their home games with draws against Hull and West Ham, two teams that geninue title contenders would expect to beat. Aston Villa moved into the top four with a 4-2 win over bolton and given the way the league is shaping up there is every possibility that they could end in those crucial champions league places.

At the bottom, West Brom were beaten again and look odds on for the drop, whilst Blackburn Rovers latest defeat has cost manager Paul Ince his job. Mark Hughes must now be sitting uncomfortably with the so called richest club in the world now just 4th from bottom and the prospect of relegation surely unthinkable for the new arab owners. Things are still very tight though with a couple of wins moving teams well up in the table.
