Three out of four of the big boys won on Saturday, it was only Arsenal who failed. It was thought recently that Arsenal looked a solid team and on the move, but back to failures to gain 3 points has dispelled that for the time being at least.
Liverpool had a great result at Manchester City and it looks as if Mark Hughes’ crown has slipped a bit this being linked to Tottenham must be unsettling for all concerned.
Elsewhere the middle of the table is looking very congested and any win can have a dramatic affect on the league position of any team. At the bottom it looks like Tottenham are doomed unless they find some confidence from somewhere. New ownership and management may follow.
Likewise Everton have had a bad run and again there may be new owners, but Moyes is determined to stay with it.
Finally the Newcastle story rumbles on. Joe Kinnear banned from the touch line for the first two games from a previous ban, and perhaps up in front of the FA for bringing the game into disrepute for his 52 word swearing rant. He let it slip that seven concerns were interested in the club.
